Eight Things to Do in Warsaw in a Small Group

Clay, a sauna on the water, dancing without a partner and board games with cats: the things in between doing it alone and doing it in a crowd.

This list is for small groups: two, three or four people who already know each other or are only just getting to know each other. We've collected eight things to do in Warsaw that leave time to talk and don't take any talent.

Addresses, hours, prices and availability come from the places' own websites, as of 28 September 2026.

1. Climb, without knowing how to climb

Obiekto, Mińska 65, Kamionek

Bouldering means climbing low and without a rope, so nobody has to belay you and nobody has to know anything. Turn up in sports clothes and rent shoes at the desk. The introductory session runs every Saturday at noon. There is no need to sign up, and it costs the same as an ordinary entry.

It works for three people because there is time to talk between attempts. And since nobody gets it right at the start, nobody is watching anyone else.

2. Make something out of clay

Alike Pottery Studio, Jagiellońska 36, Praga North

Wheel throwing, hand building, mug painting. Open weekdays 13:00-18:30 and Saturdays 10:00-15:00. A group workshop for up to eight people is 1,799 zł for the group, so split four ways it is reasonable, and you leave with something that stays.

3. Take a sauna on the water

Sauna Wisła, Czerniakowski port (walk down from the car park at Czerniakowska 136a)

A floating sauna for up to eight people, booked for your group only, with a panoramic window over the port. You book a specific session through saunawarszawa.pl. It is open around the clock, but a night session has to be confirmed by phone first. Morning slots cost less than evening ones.

Nobody expects conversation in a sauna, so silence is not awkward, which is a relief in a group still getting to know each other.

4. Cook something you would not cook alone

Instytut Sztuki Kulinarnej, Postępu 5

Open-enrolment courses for individuals, not only company bookings: evenings at 18:30, weekends from the morning. The calendar on the site shows which dates still have places, and popular ones fill up early.

Book separately for the same date. You cook at stations, so you end up talking to the rest of the room anyway.

5. Learn to dance without a partner

Beginner courses run for two months and cost 400 zł for the block. The autumn blocks started in September: Welcome to Lindy 1A (Mondays 18:00-19:15, until 26 October), Welcome to Lindy 1B (Thursdays 20:30-21:45, until 29 October) and Solo Jazz Essentials 1 (Wednesdays 21:00-22:15, until 28 October).

Solo jazz is danced on your own, so you do not need to bring anyone. For lindy hop, couples register first but a partner is not required. The autumn blocks are halfway through, although the sign-up form was still open on 28 September. The school has not announced the next beginner dates yet, so it is best to ask them directly.

6. Play board games, with cats

A café with cats and board games: Dixit, Azul, the classics and newer titles. Open weekdays 7:30-22:00, weekends 9:00-22:00.

The house rules belong to the cats: the cat room is for people aged 14 and over, do not wake them, do not pick them up, do not feed them. They will come to you if they feel like it.

7. Go to a concert midweek

Live jazz several times a week, midweek too; the program on the site lists the next dates. Doors open at 19:00 and the music starts at 20:30.

A concert is an easy first meeting: ninety minutes, and you already know what you will talk about afterwards.

8. Next summer: kayak down the Vistula, for free

Free kayak trips on the Vistula have run in Warsaw every summer since 2023, at weekends and on public holidays. In 2026 they were organised by the city's parks and greenery board (Zarząd Zieleni m.st. Warszawy), and the season ran from 31 May to 30 September. There were two routes: Wawer (Plaża Romantyczna to Plaża Saska Kępa) and Zoo (Plaża Saska Kępa to Plaża Zoo). Single and double kayaks, a short safety briefing before you set off, booking through kajakwstolicy.pl, a refundable 14 zł deposit per kayak, and new slots opened every Tuesday at 21:00.

This year's season is over, and the 2027 dates have not been announced yet. Watch wodnawarszawa.pl in the spring.

The hard part

The hardest part is not on the list: messaging two people and agreeing on a time. It helps to suggest one thing, not three, because a list of options is one more decision for everyone else, while one suggestion with a date is already an invitation. And ask about a specific day. "Sometime" is not in anyone's calendar; "Saturday at noon" is.

After that, all that is left is turning up. In a group of four, one no-show is a quarter of the evening, so if you said you would be there, be there.

We make Spotka so that this part is easier to sort out in a small group, in Warsaw. Everything on the list above works without us, though.

Some dates in this guide may have passed. Check the organiser’s page before you go.
