How it works

How does Spotka work?

Spotka works in four steps: you talk to Fern, you publish a plan of your own, you join other people's plans, and you meet in real life in Warsaw.

The first step usually takes a few minutes. Everything after it happens at your own pace, with people you already know or people you have not met yet.

  1. 1

    Talk to Fern

Fern is Spotka's AI agent. You have a relaxed conversation with her, out loud or typed, in Polish, English, Ukrainian, Belarusian or Russian. She learns what you genuinely enjoy and who you are looking to spend time with.

  2. 2

    Publish a plan

You publish one plan of your own: a dinner, a walk, kayaking, a gallery night, anything you would like to host. Invite your own friends, even ones who are not on Spotka yet, or leave the door open for new people. You do not have to publish before you join: the four steps are the usual order, not a lock.

  3. 3

    Join other people's plans

Browse plans published by people nearby, say you are interested, and agree a time together. Fern keeps your feed to the plans that fit what you told her.

  4. 4

    Meet in real life

Show up at the place you agreed. The plan holds the where, when and who, so you can focus on being there. One-to-one or a small group, never a crowd.

Do I have to publish a plan first?

No. You can join other people's plans right away. Spotka asks you to publish one of your own because it is built around people who show up, not people who only browse.

A plan can be small. Coffee on Saturday morning. A walk after work. It does not need to be clever or public: you can invite only friends you already have. The more people put something of their own on the table, the more the plans you see come from people who mean it.

Who do I actually meet?

You meet the friends you invite and, if you leave a plan open, people in Warsaw whose interests match yours.

Fern matches on what you enjoy doing, not on photos. That is why the same plan can bring together a newcomer and someone who has lived in Warsaw for forty years. Plans are one-to-one or small groups, because that is the size at which people actually talk. Spotka is not a dating app; read how safety works before your first meetup.

What does it cost?

The Spotka app is free, and Spotka takes no payments today. Some plans carry a cost for the activity itself, and the host states it on the plan before you join.

Details, including refunds, are on the pricing page.

Where can I use Spotka?

Spotka works in any web browser, on iPhone through TestFlight, and on Android as a direct download.

Spotka starts in Warsaw. The iPhone app needs a TestFlight invite from the Spotka team (write to [email protected]); the Android app installs directly from spotka.co rather than from a store. The download page always shows what is currently available.

Ready to start?

One short chat with Fern is enough. Tell her what you are into and she takes it from there.

Spotka is in early access in Warsaw. With an invite you sign in; without one, your email joins the launch list and we write when a place opens.
